Larry E. Quicksall

Hi Everyone!  My name is Larry Quicksall, and the purpose of this blog is to share with you information, experience and hopefully some wisdom that I have picked up over the years working in the human services field with the ultimate goal of helping YOU become a better counselor or therapist.

Let’s see, what about me would be helpful….  Professionally, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Speech Communications from Eastern Illinois University (1987) and a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Community Mental Health from the University of Illinois (1991); I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (1993).

I have worked in various settings including for-profit, non-profit, governmental, private practice, clinic-based, hospital-based, and residential providing services to many populations including substance abuse prevention and treatment, chronic mental illness, hospice and end of life care, home health, developmental disabilities, marriage and family restoration, general outpatient, and veterans services.  In addition, I am an author, speaker, former adjunct faculty at our local community college, and trainer of other professionals in the human services field.

On the personal side, I am married to my lovely wife, Dawn, and together we have five children, eight grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.  In my “spare time” I work with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, am a beekeeper and president of the Crossroads Beekeepers, manage my mom’s apartment buildings, manage the family farm, and I am starting a new adventure with the creation of Crossroads Innovative Trainings, a professional training and coaching business to help those in the human services field improve their skills to be come the practitioners they always wanted to be.

But again, my purpose here is to share my passion, insight, and knowledge in such a way as to help YOU become the therapist or counselor you always wanted to be.  With that said, if you have questions, comments, or ideas for this blog, please contact me, and I’ll be glad to take it under consideration.

Have a Great Day!
Larry Quicksall
